Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr announced recently that it has added three shareholders to its Houston office, adding depth to the firm’s energy litigation and tax practices.
Two of the lateral hires join from law firms in Houston and one was previously at Shell Oil.
Energy litigator Richard “Dick” Schwartz handles complex matters arising from refinery and well site operations, including explosions, fires and well control events, and investigations. He was formerly at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease.
Todd Frank, who jumped to Munsch Hardt from Watt Thompson Frank & Carver, specializes in upstream oil and gas litigation. He defends clients in catastrophic accidents, personal injury and wrongful death claims.
Susan Sample is a tax controversy expert from Shell Oil, where she was a senior tax advisor. She is also the mayor of the City of West University Place.
“Last year we expanded our footprint in Houston by 40 percent to accommodate for new attorneys,” Phil C. Appenzeller, Jr., CEO of Munsch Hardt, said in a statement. ”Dick, Todd and Susan are hard-working, well-respected attorneys who bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the firm. We hope this is just the beginning of an active and successful lateral recruiting year for us in Houston.”
