Munsch Hardt’s Summer Surge: New Faces, New Practices

August 19, 2025 Brooks Igo

There has been no summer slowdown at Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr.

The Dallas-based firm has announced a burst of lateral hires and practice leadership appointments over the last two months.

It started June 20, the official first day of summer, with the addition of litigation shareholder Sarah L. Rogers from Thompson Coe and three associates (lawyers from two different firms and one from Hines, the private real estate development firm in Houston).

A few days after that, Munsch Hardt announced it signed former Houston Texans Associate General Counsel Sunil Jamal to quarterback the firm’s new Sports and Entertainment practice.

The last few weeks have seen several developments to the firm’s construction practice, including new arrival Bradford Smith in Dallas, the exit of shareholder Bob Hancock, and the appointment of co-chairs Mason Hester and Logan Adcock. Hester is the immediate past chair of the Houston Bar Construction Law Section.

And finally, former Chief Executive Officer Phil Appenzeller launched the firm’s mediation practice. Appenzeller is also Munsch Hardt’s co-general counsel and lateral recruiting shareholder.

“Starting a mediation practice reflects Munsch Hardt’s continued evolution in response to market needs for efficient, pragmatic alternatives to traditional litigation,” David Coligado, CEO of Munsch Hardt, said in the firm’s announcement. “Phil’s previous leadership experience and decision-making ability allow the firm to offer third-party, private mediations resulting in meaningful, cost-effective solutions to businesses and individuals alike.”

Munsch Hardt finished 2024 with $112.9 million in revenue, according to Texas Lawbook 50 research, which was an increase of five percent from the year prior. The firm has more than 150 lawyers in Texas.
