(Aug. 9) – The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas appointed Renee Hunter and Gregory Martin as assistant U.S. attorneys on Monday, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Erin Nealy Cox.
Hunter and Martin were sworn in Monday morning before Chief Judge Barbara Lynn.
“I am confident that they will both make a significant impact in our community and work tirelessly on behalf of the citizens of the United States,” Nealy Cox said in the announcement.
Hunter will focus on health care fraud cases in the Economic Crimes & Public Corruption Section of the office’s Criminal Division. Since graduating from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2014, Hunter has practiced at Sidley Austin and, most recently, Thompson & Knight, where she focused on white-collar criminal defense work with former U.S. Attorney Richard Roper.
Martin, a former litigation associate at Jones Day in San Diego, has been assigned to the Asset Recovery Unit in the office’s Criminal Division, where he will focus on the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network Initiative to build asset forfeiture cases from Bank Secrecy Act data.
