2017 was another momentous year for Polsinelli’s growing Dallas and Houston offices. Polsinelli remains fully committed to building on our strong Texas presence, which has grown more than tenfold over less than seven years, with approximately 70 attorneys in Dallas and Houston providing outstanding services to the state’s top companies across a wide range of practice areas.
Last year, Polsinelli added shareholders Adam Hull and Rick Jordan in Dallas to serve as co-chairs of the firm’s dynamic, nationwide Venture Capital and Emerging Growth Companies practice, which is positioned to help Polsinelli become one of the predominant law firms focused on emerging technology markets.
Also last year, the firm elevated its Intellectual Property practice to be a fourth service department within the firm, with Houston-based shareholders Gregory Novak and Tracy Druce named vice chairs. This strategic realignment enhances Polsinelli’s ability to serve its clients through what has become one of the nation’s largest and most sophisticated IP groups.
Three of Polsinelli’s Texas attorneys were named shareholders last fall: Jonathan Blum (Nonprofit Organizations), Andrew Johnson (Products Liability and Toxic Tort) and Daniel McGuire (Commercial Litigation).
Polsinelli continues to be at the forefront of advising healthcare industry providers and investors on complex regulatory, litigation, regulatory, merger and acquisition and other transactional matters. For example, last year Polsinelli represented Texas-based MB2 Dental Solutions in its majority recapitalization with Sentinel Capital Partners, earning recognition from D CEO Magazine and the Association for Corporate Growth in the 2018 M&A Awards. 2017 also marked the 10th year of the annual Healthcare Dealmakers Conference, bringing together healthcare business leaders nationwide to discuss deal-making opportunities and challenges, as well as the latest healthcare innovations.
Polsinelli remains deeply involved in the Texas community, supporting the startup ecosystem, business and civic organizations through involvement with BioNorth Texas, North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, Dallas Regional Chamber/Dallas Innovates, Houston Angel Network, Rice University Alliance and Business Competition, Health Wildcatters, and the Social Ventures Partnership.
