Quinn Emanuel Expands Bankruptcy Group with New Houston Partner

March 14, 2019 Brooks Igo

Prominent national litigation firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has gained restructuring litigation expertise in Houston with the addition of Patricia Tomasco.

Tomasco, who joins Quinn Emanuel as a partner, was previously at Jackson Walker. She represents clients in the energy and telecommunications industries and high-tech debtors in workouts, distressed acquisitions and corporate reorganizations in Chapter 11 cases.

“Quinn Emanuel offers my practice an expanded platform and prominence and shows the firm’s commitment to the Houston restructuring market,” Tomasco said in a statement. “This move allows me to continue to advocate for the Houston venue both nationally and internationally.”

The South Texas College of Law Houston graduate serves as the chair of the Complex Case Committee for the Southern District of Texas.

“We have been working with Patty for several years in bankruptcy cases venued in Houston,” Susheel Kirpalani, chair of Quinn Emanuel’s bankruptcy and restructuring group, said in the firm’s announcement.

“Patty expands the geographic reach of our bankruptcy group as we have witnessed significant growth in the Houston market and their sophisticated judiciary and client base.”
