Real Estate Counsel of Prominent San Antonio Family Office Returns to Haynes Boone

March 4, 2024 Brooks Igo

After nearly three years in-house with the real estate operating company for the San Antonio private investment firm of Whataburger’s founding family, George Hinchey is returning to private practice at Haynes Boone, the firm announced Monday.

This is the San Antonio real estate partner’s third different stint at Haynes Boone. Hinchey represents private and institutional parties in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing, and development of commercial properties.

As corporate secretary and real estate counsel at Las Aguilas Real Estate, the real estate operating company for the Dobson’s family office Las Aguilas Enterprises, Hinchey oversaw real estate litigation; assisted with evaluating company insurance programs in consultation with the CFO; represented the company with respect to disposition, acquisition, and leasing of various real estate assets; and negotiated joint ventures and fund investments.

“Haynes Boone is a firm of compassionate perfectionism with lawyers who work hand-in-hand cross-functionally to create flawless work for their clients,” Hinchey said in a statement. “The real estate practice and the firm are moving in an exciting direction both nationally and globally.”

Hinchey started his career at the San Antonio law firm Langley & Banack after receiving his law degree from the University of Texas. His first two tenures at Haynes Boone sandwiched a stop at Jackson Walker.
