Frost Brown Todd said Tuesday that real estate partners Kevin Maguire and Nicole Karam have joined the firm’s Dallas office from Spencer Fane.
Karam and Maguire advise clients on real estate matters in the energy industry.
“Energy and infrastructure needs have never been greater in Texas, and we now have bolstered our team with two highly qualified lawyers who know how to handle the complex processes surrounding the land and other real estate assets these projects require,” real estate practice group leader Christina M. Sprecher said in a statement.
Karam focuses her practice on condemnation matters representing condemning authorities and landowners throughout Texas. She negotiates easements, encroachment agreements, and possession and use agreements, as well as initiates litigation, including condemnation proceedings, and defends existing property rights as disputes arise.
Prior to her three-and-a-half years at Spencer Fane, Karam practiced at Diamond McCarthy. The Albany Law School graduate started her career at Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors.
Maguire helps clients resolve eminent domain cases and property disputes, advising both public and private companies on the acquisition of property for roads, schools, gas pipelines, powerlines, and other public infrastructure. He also helps clients navigate government regulation of land, including inverse condemnation, zoning and regulatory takings.
The SMU Dedman School of Law alumnus practiced for nearly three decades at Strasburger & Price before investing the last six years with Spencer Fane.
