Reed Smith Brings L&E Expertise to Dallas Office with Trio from Morgan Lewis

July 16, 2019 Brooks Igo

Reed Smith announced this week that a trio of labor and employment lawyers from Morgan Lewis have joined its Dallas office.

The team is led by Paulo McKeeby, who co-chaired the Texas labor and employment practice at Morgan Lewis. He is joined by Michael Correll, who has been promoted to partner as part of the move, and associate Amanda Brown.

McKeeby, Correll and Brown are the first labor and employment specialists at Reed Smith’s Dallas office, which now numbers 25 lawyers. The new additions come on the heels of last week’s news that commercial litigation partner Elizabeth Brandon lateraled to the firm from Barnes & Thornburg.

“Guidance on labor and employment issues is an area of vital importance for our clients, so, in keeping with our strategic plan for Dallas, we sought out the best in the market to help build the L&E practice as we continue to expand our full-service capabilities,” Brian Mitchell, co-managing partner of Reed Smith’s Dallas office said in a statement.

McKeeby focuses his practice on litigation involving Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

“I was very happy at my previous firm, but the excitement and energy associated with the opening of Reed Smith’s Dallas office was frankly overwhelming,” McKeeby said the firm’s official announcement. “The opportunity to be part of that process at a firm with a prestigious and national labor and employment law presence was what motivated me to join Reed Smith.”

Correll, who received his B.A. from SMU before heading to Stanford for law school, defends employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge.
