Dallas commercial litigator Elizabeth Brandon has jumped to Reed Smith’s recently-opened Dallas office from Barnes & Thornburg.
Brandon says it was a difficult decision to leave a good group of lawyers at Barnes, but the Reed Smith platform offered more broad-ranging opportunities for her clients, which include Targa Resources, Toyota and Eli Lilly and Company.
“It is a unique opportunity to help open a Dallas office for a national firm that has an established presence globally, nationally and locally in Texas,” she says. “I’ve been impressed by the firm’s success in Houston in an extremely competitive market, particularly in the oil and gas sector.”
Brian Mitchell, who was part of the original group of lawyers to launch Reed Smith’s Dallas office opening in May, says Brandon is a “huge addition” to the office and the firm’s global disputes team.
“She has a great reputation in Dallas and has some really significant and high profile clients,” says Mitchell, who co-leads the 22-lawyer Dallas outpost.
Before leaving for Reed Smith, Brandon wrapped up a couple of construction-related disputes for Toyota. She is representing Canada-based Give and Go Prepared Foods in a commercial dispute that is set for trial in Dallas County early next year before Judge Staci Williams.
