The Houston Bar Foundation announced recently that Shell corporate counsel Travis Torrence has officially begun his term as chair of the Houston Bar Association’s charitable arm. He succeeds Gibbs & Bruns partner Barrett Reasoner.

Torrence is global litigation bankruptcy and credit team lead at Shell. He also serves on the boards of the Texas Bar Foundation and the National LGBT Bar Foundation. Prior to joining Shell, Torrence practiced at Fulbright & Jaworski, where he chaired the Houston office’s recruiting committee and served as a founding member of the firm’s Diversity Council.

The HBF also announced that Charles A. “Chip” Casey of ExxonMobil Corporation will serve as vice-chair and Tom Godbold of Twin Eagle Resource Management, LLC, will serve as treasurer.
