(Jan. 4) – Chicago-based Sidley Austin recently announced that Dallas lawyer Robert Velevis has been promoted to partner, effective Jan. 1. He is one of 24 newly minted partners firmwide.
Velevis focuses his civil litigation practice on class actions and multi-district litigation, energy-related litigation, complex financial services litigation, including litigation involving derivatives contracts, M&A litigation and bankruptcy litigation.
In 2013, he received the Daniel R. Ginsberg Award from the Anti-Defamation League and the Pro Bono Award from Disability Rights Texas.
