Spencer Fane Brings in New Year with Bankruptcy Trio in Plano

January 13, 2021 Brooks Igo

Spencer Fane kicked off the new year by absorbing the three-lawyer Plano bankruptcy law firm Pronske & Kathman.

Gerrit Pronske, Jason Kathman and Megan Clontz will office in Spencer Fane’s Plano outpost. Kathman is the current chair of the bankruptcy section of the Dallas Bar Association.

“As we continue to identify priority needs for our clients and provide them the necessary resources to effectively handle those matters, bankruptcy and restructuring continues to be an area of focus for us,” Paul Sander, managing partner of Spencer Fane’s Plano office, said in a statement.

“The opportunity to add three talented and highly respected attorneys in this practice area with a shared focus on responsive and efficient client service puts us in a position to maintain our strength and continue to expand our capabilities in this sector of law for our market.”

It is the second year in a row Spencer Fane has announced a group of lateral hires in Texas to bring in the new year. The Kansas City-based firm started 2020 by adding a group of attorneys from Hiersche Hayward as that firm wound down its operations.
