Houston labor and employment expert Laura Alaniz has lateraled from Porter Hedges to Spencer Fane, the firm announced Tuesday.
Alaniz has represented employers in all types of employment disputes, including suits for wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment and discrimination, wage and hour disputes, disability accommodation, and has litigated claims of tortious interference, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Before her four-year tenure at Porter Hedges, Alaniz was an equity partner at Thompson Coe. The Baylor Law School graduate gained 15 years of experience earlier in her career at Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey.
Alaniz is the fourth Texas hire for Spencer Fane this year. The firm has also added Austin associate Creighton McMurray and Houston of counsel Raymond Jones and Travis Armstrong.
