Steptoe & Johnson PLLC Taps Clark Hill Partners to Lead New Texas Outposts

August 9, 2021 Brooks Igo

West Virginia law firm Steptoe & Johnson PLLC announced on Monday the opening of three new offices in Texas.

The Dallas, Collin County and San Antonio outposts are being manned by 11 attorneys total and will be led by former Clark Hill partners. It is the firm’s fourth Texas office and brings the firm’s total footprint to 18 locations.

“This is the single largest geographic expansion in the firm’s 108-year history. These locations represent a strategic investment for the firm to better serve our existing clients in Texas and widen our scope of services to new clients,” Steptoe & Johnson CEO Christopher L. Slaughter said in a statement.

The Dallas office will be led by energy transactional member Elizabeth Cromwell, who was previously at Clark Hill. She is being joined by her Clark Hill colleagues Jules Brenner and Christopher Harris; John Frick, Jay LaJone, Charles Appler, Taylor Wilson and K. Blair Bennett of Bennett, Weston, LaJone & Turner; and solo attorney Linda Braga.

Former Clark Hill tax partners Robert “Brad” Fletcher and Katherine David will spearhead the Collin County and San Antonio offices, respectively.
