(Aug. 9) – The Houston Bar Association announced today that it received the Texas Access to Justice Commission’s 2017 Deborah G. Hankinson Award.

The HBA, according to the announcement, earned the Hankinson award for its monthly and bimonthly legal clinics to meet the needs of Harris County residents and for raising $752,000 through its annual Harvest Celebration fundraiser for legal services provided through the HBA’s Houston Volunteer Lawyers.

HBA President Neil Kelly, a partner at Andrews Kurth Kenyon, accepted the award during the State Bar of Texas Bar Leaders Conference on July 29 in Houston.
