(Sept. 9) – The Texas Access to Justice Foundation announced today that it appointed Tim Kelly and Denise Scofield to its board of directors.
Kelly, president of Auto Financial Group in Austin, and Scofield, a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Houston, will serve three-year terms.
“We are pleased to have Tim Kelly and Denise Scofield join us as we work to ensure access to justice for all Texans,” Richard L. Tate, chair of the board of directors of the Texas Access to Justice Foundation, said in a statement. “Their combined experience is invaluable to the board as we work with legal aid organizations throughout the state to provide legal assistance in civil matters.”
Scofield represents industrial clients in environmental, commercial and toxic tort disputes. She currently leads her office’s pro bono program and is the chair-elect of the Houston Bar Foundation. In the past, she has served as president of the Houston Bar Association and chair of the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.
The Texas Access to Justice Foundation board of directors is made up of 13 attorney and public members. The Supreme Court of Texas appoints seven members and the State Bar of Texas appoints six.
