Another billion-dollar deal was announced Tuesday in the Marcellus Shale natural gas region.
This time, Penn Virginia is paying $1 billion to purchase Chief Gathering, an energy pipeline company with roots in Dallas.
Penn Virginia is represented by Vinson & Elkins’ M&A and capital markets partners in New York and Houston, including E. Ramey Layne.
Thompson & Knight energy law partner Arthur Wright represents Chief Gather, which is owned by Dallas-based Chief E&D.
Laura Tyson, a banking and finance partner at Baker Botts in Austin, represents institutional investors Kane Anderson and Magnetar Capital.
The private equity firm Riverstone is represented by Latham & Watkins transactional partners Charles Carpenter and Tim Fenn in Houston.
