(Feb. 17) – The Texas Tech University School of Law announced yesterday that its advocacy team won the 66th Annual National Moot Court Competition hosted by the New York City Bar Association.
It is the law school’s fourth victory in school history at this tournament and third in the last six years. Texas Tech won back-to-back championships in 2011 and 2012.
The team – led by Robert Sherwin, director of the law school’s advocacy program – included third-year law students C.J. Baker, Shelby Hall and Kristen Vander-Plas. They defeated a team from the Georgetown University Law Center in the finals.
Hall was also honored as having the top legal brief in the competition.
