(June 17) – The original business plan of The Texas Lawbook set lofty objectives, including the goal of reaching 6,000 paid subscribers at the end of our fifth year of operation, which will be this coming November.
The mission remained constant – provide unique and substantive content for business lawyers in Texas.
Today, we are pleased to announce that we have achieved and passed 8,000 paid subscribers – about 1,800 are corporate in-house lawyers.
Thank you for supporting us.
To celebrate this year, we are going to take time each week to thank our subscribers when they sign up or renew. In addition, we plan to spend extra time during the next six months meeting with lawyers and firms about story ideas and how we can improve our product.
Our biggest project of the past year has been the Lions of the Texas Bar. We featured 50 great lawyers who have served their clients and the legal profession for decades. We will have a major announcement in a couple weeks regarding the Lions project.
The Corporate Deal Tracker is one of our most popular features. It allows subscribers to see every merger, acquisition, joint venture and securities offering in which a Texas lawyer is involved. Lawyers and clients are able to see the firms and specific lead lawyers handling those transactions. Plus, we still have our exclusive partnership with Mergermarket, an independent research firm. Mergermarket tracks deal-making of Texas-based companies.
We know we still have a lot of work to do. There are many more ways for us to improve and to expand our coverage of business law.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of our staff if you have any questions, news tips or suggestions on how we can improve our product.
