(Sept. 20) — The Texas Securities Commission announced Monday that Travis J. Iles, who had served as assistant director of the agency’s enforcement division for six years, has been promoted to deputy commissioner.
Commissioner John Morgan announced Iles new assignment after former deputy commissioner, Ronak Panel, resigned to join Fort Worth-based Kelly Hart & Hallman as a partner in the law firm’s Austin office.
A graduate of the University of Iowa School of Law, Iles joined the state Securities Board in 2001 and served as a staff attorney in the agency’s enforcement division and the inspections and compliance division.
“Travis’ professionalism and extensive experience will be of tremendous benefit to the agency as it carries out its important work on behalf of the people of Texas,” Morgan said in a written statement.
Iles has served as a special assistant district attorney in several Texas counties and worked on trial matters in federal law enforcement prosecutions. He has also adjudicated enforcement matters before the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
