U.S. Trustee Recommends No Expansion of Jackson Walker Bankruptcy Fee Case

October 19, 2026 Michelle Casady

The U.S. Trustee’s office has told the court it is unnecessary to expand the claw-back litigation against Jackson Walker beyond the 33 bankruptcy cases already proceeding that involve former U.S. Bankruptcy Judge David Jones and former Jackson Walker bankruptcy partner Elizabeth Freeman.

The statement comes ahead of a show cause hearing scheduled for Thursday, in response to an invitation from Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Eduardo V. Rodriguez. Chief Judge Rodriguez issued the order earlier this month after discovering Diebold Holding Company’s Chapter 11 case, which involved Freeman and Jones, was not among the 33 cases consolidated in the miscellaneous proceeding.
