(December 9) – It’s been a busy week for the M&A department at Vinson & Elkins, and it’s only Monday.

The firm announced its involvement with Valerus’ $435 million sale of its field solution business to Kentz Corporation Limited as well as EnerVest, Ltd.’s sale of its Permian Basin assets to QEP Energy Company for $950 million.

In the first deal, V&E represents Houston-based Valerus, with Houston M&A partners Matt Strock and Ted Stockbridge as the lead attorneys, who received assistance from Houston associate Lauren Anderson.

Also involved were Houston partners Keith Fullenweider, Tom Wilson, John Lynch and Larry Nettles; Dallas partner Brian Bloom and associate Russell Oshman; Houston associates Han Gao, Mark Wang, Jared Whalen, Martin Luff, Robert Jacobson and Matt Dobbins; Washington, D.C. partner Neil Imus and London partner François Feuillat.

Mayer Brown’s Houston office is Kentz’s legal counsel, with corporate & securities partners Bob Gray and Harry Beaudry as the lead attorneys. Also assisting were associates Kristen Ford and Amelia Xu.

In the second deal, V&E represents Houston-based EnerVest and its affiliates, working closely with EnerVest General Counsel Fabené Welch, formerly a partner at Haynes and Boone before joining the company. Houston partner Joe Dilg and associates Mingda Zhao, Paul Seifert and Shannyn Piper led the V&E team, and received assistance from Dallas partner Todd Way, Austin partner Sue Snyder and Dallas associate Julia Pashin.

Denver firm Holland & Hart represented Denver-based QEP and worked closely with QEP senior attorney Heidi Hande.
