(Dec. 6) – Weil, Gotshal & Manges recently announced that Dallas associate Sam Peca has been named the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program’s Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year.
Peca, an associate in Weil’s corporate department, contributed more than 360 hours of pro bono legal service to DVAP in the last year.
He served a two-month tenure as a Lend-A-Lawyer with DVAP and assisted clients on family law, probate and expunction matters. He has also volunteered at DVAP’s neighborhood legal clinics, prove-up clinics, wills clinic and veterans’ clinic.
“Sam’s commitment to pro bono service has been extraordinary and he is well-deserving of this recognition,” Rodney Moore, co-managing partner of Weil’s Dallas office, said in a statement.
“He has gone above and beyond in his dedication to support pro bono efforts by committing a significant block of hi time to get directly involved with DVAP in providing free legal aid to residents of our community who otherwise would have gone without.”
