Weil Elects New Partners and Counsel, One in Houston

Chris Lopez, an associate in Weil’s Houston office, will be one of the 18 new partners and counsel at the firm next year, according to a press release issued by the firm. He will be the only new partner or counsel in either of Weil’s Texas offices.

The University of Texas School of Law graduate focuses his practice on business reorganization and insolvency. He has been involved in a number of significant chapter 11 cases, including American Airlines, WorldCom, Enron, Global Crossing, SemGroup, General Growth Properties, Express Energy Services, and International Aluminum.

Of the 18 newly elected lawyers, nine are partners and nine are counsel.
Lopez will become counsel effective Jan. 1, 2014.
