(July 10) – Weil recently announced that it helped raise more than $95,000 for Dallas nonprofit Vogel Alcove at the firm’s fifth annual “Dodge for a Cause” dodgeball tournament. The event has raised more than a quarter of a million dollars since its creation.

Weil attorneys Michael Andrews, David Gail, Jonathan Macke, Charles Persons and Camille Walker and business development guru Linda Domyanic served as co-chairs of this year’s event.

“We are so excited to continue our long-standing support of Vogel Alcove, an impactful organization providing education and childcare services to Dallas’ homeless children,” Courtney Marcus, co-managing partner of Weil’s Dallas office, said in a statement.

“The record amount of money raised and the growing tournament size is a testament to our clients’ and the Dallas business community’s spirit of philanthropy and commitment to this important cause.”

This year’s “Dodge for a Cause” major sponsors included Kainos Capital, Drivers Select, Sewell Automotive, Vinson & Elkins, Alix Partners, Crow Holdings and Match.com.

Team sponsors included: ACE Cash Express, American Airlines, AT&T, Blue Star Sports, Caddis Healthcare Real Estate, CIC Partners, Copart, Elm Park Capital Management, Hall Group, HBK, Houlihan Lokey, KPMG, Maverick Capital, MS Private Wealth Management, ORIX USA, Service King, Southwest Airlines, Springbok Energy, US Trust, W Hotel Dallas – Victory and media sponsor WFAA – Channel 8.
