(May 9) – The Association for Corporate Growth and D CEO Magazine named Glenn West, managing partner of Weil Gotshal’s Dallas office, the Adviser Dealmaker of the Year at the 2014 Mergers & Acquisitions Awards Competition, the firm announced yesterday.
West was recognized for his role as counsel to Fort Worth-based AMR Corporation in its approximately $18 billion merger with US Airways Group, Inc.; counsel to Houston-based Apache Corporation in its $2.95 billion sale of a one-third minority participation in its Egypt oil and gas business to Sinopec; counsel in a unique secondary sale of its food and consumer products portfolio companies of HM Capital Partners to a special purpose vehicle as part of the creation of a new Dallas-based fund called Kainos Capital Partners; and lead M&A counsel to LIN TV Corporation in its sale of LIN Television of Texas, followed by its merger into and with LIN Media LLC.
“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by the Dallas dealmaking community as the Adviser Dealmaker of the Year,” West said in a statement. “Of course, critical deals such as these require the work of many team members, from our clients’ in-house teams to my Weil colleagues in Dallas and in our offices worldwide.”
