(Feb. 26) – White & Case announced Monday that it has added another oil and gas partner to its new Houston office.
Steven Otillar has jumped over to the New York law firm from Akin Gump. He focuses his practice on acquisition, divestiture and development of U.S. domestic and global energy projects.
Philip Stopford, co-head of White & Case’s global oil and gas industry group, said that in addition to bolstering the firm’s expertise in the U.S. domestic and cross-border upstream and midstream space, Otillar’s “knowledge of the Latin American market will enhance the market-leading services we already offer to clients in countries such as Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.”
Otillar is the president of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and sits on the executive committee for the Institute for Energy Law in the Center for American and International Law.
White & Case officially opened in Houston on Feb. 13 with Jay Cuclis, Christopher Richardson and Charlie Ofner. Saul Daniel, who has practiced in London and Abu Dhabi, has also joined the office. The firm has aspirations to build a 50-lawyer office.
