Willkie Farr Picks Up Private Equity Pro Kfir Abutbul

(Aug. 4) – Willkie Farr & Gallagher announced yesterday that Houston private equity partner Kfir Abutbul has lateraled to the firm from Kirkland & Ellis.

Abutbul is familiar with Willkie; he was an associate in the firm’s New York office from August 2013 to July 2014. He made partner with Kirkland last fall.

Bruce Herzog, partner-in-charge of Willkie’s Houston office, noted in a statement that Abutbul joins a team of lawyers who specialize in private equity transactions in the energy sector and broader buyout space.

Abutbul has advised private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies and management teams on corporate transactions in the U.S. and throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America and Israel, where he is from.
