(Nov. 11) – Wilson Elser announced yesterday that it bolstered its Houston office and opened an outpost in Beaumont by luring away half of Lewis Brisbois’ Houston office.
Nine attorneys have joined the New York-based law firm’s Houston office and two will operate out of Beaumont. Kent Adams, former managing partner of Lewis Brisbois in Houston, has been named the regional managing partner of the two Gulf Coast offices.
“With offices in Dallas, Houston, Beaumont and a newly-opened Austin office, and with a deep bench of skilled attorneys, Wilson Elser has a formidable presence throughout Texas to service clients across all practice areas,” Stratton Horres, regional managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office and partner-in-charge of lateral hiring, said in a statement.
“I look forward to working with Kent on implementing our shared vision for the firm of continued growth throughout the state of Texas and the southwest region.”
The attorneys joining Adams in Houston are soon-to-be-named partners Allison Edwards, Tracy Freeman, Michael Jacobellis and Kristie Johnson; of counsel Ronald White and State Rep. Sarah Davis; and associates John Busch and Cedar Manganiello.
Russell Heald and Ross Jones, who both will be named partners on Jan. 1, are based in Beaumont.
The expertise of the new Wilson Elser attorneys spans across a number of practice areas including admiralty and marine, commercial litigation, construction, energy, general liability and casualty, insurance and reinsurance coverage and defense, transportation and a London market group.
