(May 31) – Reed Smith recently announced that antitrust expert Bruce Blefeld has joined the firm’s Houston office as a partner.
Blefeld, who laterals over from K&L Gates, will practice in the firm’s regulatory enforcement group. He has successfully defended a major global health care device and supply company in a $1 billion antitrust suit and a large health care group purchasing organization in a $600 million antitrust suit, according to a press release.
“[Blefeld’s] work in the energy sector will be especially helpful to our many global energy clients, and his experience representing health care providers and major pharmaceutical companies is a perfect complement to our leading life sciences and health care practice,” Jim Sanders, co-chair of Reed Smith’s global regulatory enforcement practice, said in a statement.
Reed Smith’s Houston office, which opened in 2013, now has more than 50 attorneys. In March, the firm added two intellectual property partners to the fast-growing office.
