Winston & Strawn Adds Tax Partner Louis Jenull

September 24, 2024 Brooks Igo

Winston & Strawn has recruited tax partner Louis Jenull to its Dallas office, the firm said Monday.

Jenull joins the firm from Squire Patton Boggs. On LinkedIn, he describes himself as “renewable energy counsel” and a “tax credit monetizer” with “low carbon expertise.”

“Louis’ vast experience within the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors, specifically related to tax-advantaged investments structures, further advances our abilities to guide clients who are navigating this evolving landscape,” Bryan Goolsby, Winston & Strawn’s Dallas office managing partner, said in the firm’s announcement. “His insights and involvement with the tax aspects, policy issues, and related incentives of the Inflation Reduction Act will be crucial, as the Dallas region remains very active in renewable energy transactions.”

Jenull has experience advising on deals related to wind, solar, critical minerals, battery storage, electric vehicles, advanced manufacturing facilities, carbon sequestration and storage, and hydrogen projects, incentives, programs, and tax credits.

After receiving his law degree from Tulane University and LLM from New York University, Jenull started his career at KPMG. He moved to Big Law soon after at Jones Day, where he practiced for more than a dozen years. He has also worked at Thompson & Knight.
