Katy-based Academy Sports and Outdoors named Brandy Treadway executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary this week.
Treadway, who was most recently the chief legal officer at RumbleOn, an online marketplace for motorcycles and powersport vehicles, will oversee all legal, compliance and risk management functions supporting the company’s corporate, distribution centers and retail initiatives.
The 2002 SMU Dedman School of Law graduate has significant experience in retail, having previously worked at JCPenney for a decade, where she ultimately became senior vice president, general counsel and secretary.
Treadway was recognized by the DFW Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and The Texas Lawbook for leading JCPenney through its Chapter 11 restructuring.
Treadway started her legal career at Weil, Gotshal and Manges in Dallas. She also worked in the firm’s London office.
