Husch Blackwell Names Erin Banks Chief Business Development Officer

August 8, 2025 Brooks Igo

Husch Blackwell hired its first-ever chief business development officer this week, adding Dallas-based Erin Banks to its C-suite.

Banks was previously a director of business development at Reed Smith. She has more than two decades of experience in legal marketing and business development leadership roles, including at Norton Rose Fulbright in Austin.

Senior leaders at Husch Blackwell created this new executive position at a firm strategy meeting earlier this year. Banks will oversee the Kansas City-based firm’s business development strategy and execution, marketing and communications, marketing technology, events, creative services and key client accounts.

“From her extensive experience guiding large firm growth to her leadership style and cultural fit, Erin is a transformative addition to our leadership team,” Jamie Lawless, chief executive of Husch Blackwell, said in the firm’s announcement.

“She has built high-performing teams, delivered measurable growth, and led law firms through competitive market shifts.”

Husch Blackwell’s Texas revenues in 2024 came in at $86.7 million, according to Texas Lawbook 50 research. The firm has more than 115 lawyers across its Dallas, Houston and Austin offices.
