The Corporate Deal Tracker enters a new era today with news, analysis and data that the M&A community has never seen and that has been years in the planning.
The Texas Lawbook launched the Corporate Deal Tracker in 2015 as a simple database that identified transactions — mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and capital markets — handled by lawyers in Texas.
A decade later, The Lawbook is relaunching an expanded and enhanced version of the signature product. And the lawyers — the dealmakers themselves — remain the primary focus with the CDT.
There are three elements to this Big Beautiful New Corporate Deal Tracker:
- This revamped Sunday newsletter that provides exclusive new content on M&A and CapM dealmakers;
- The redesigned and significantly more user-friendly CDT section page, which includes a weekly deal count and deal value ticket that examines M&A transactions year-to-date in comparison with one year earlier;
- The expanded and improved searchable CDT database, which now includes 14,238 total transactions — includes M&A, CapM, fundings and credit transactions — in which Texas lawyers were legal advisors (Note: For Premium Subscribers only); and
- A new additional attention given to non-lawyer dealers, including financial advisors, CFOs, investment bankers and private equity firm leaders.
The Lawbook, which has more than 16,000 paid subscribers — including nearly 3,000 general counsel and other in-house counsel — has increased the resources that we give to our corporate transactional coverage. We have four extraordinary professions leading the effort, including Jeff Schnick (former Dallas Business Journal editor who is The Lawbook’s top editor and leads the CDT team), Allen Pusey (former ABA Journal editor and Dallas Morning News projects editor), Christi Trammell (our database and research guru) and Jason Philyaw (former reporter and editor of The Bond Buyer and The Dallas Morning News).
