June 1, 2026 Mark Curriden

GoldenPeaks Poland, a European renewable energy company that operates solar-powered systems in Poland and Hungary, and 40 of its affiliated businesses filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the Southern District of Texas on Friday.

GoldenPeaks, which court records show has a home address in the Mediterranean island nation of Malta, reported it has between $1 billion and $10 billion in liabilities but only $500 million to $1 billion in assets. Nearly all of the creditors listed in court documents are based in Poland and China.

The energy company selected Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones, which has an office in Houston but is headquartered in Los Angeles, as its lead outside legal advisor.

The case has been assigned to U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Alfredo R. Perez in Houston.

The Pachulski Stang lawyers working on the bankruptcy include Michael D. Warner, Maxim B. Litvak, Steven W. Golden and Benjamin L. Wallen.

The case is In Re: GoldenPeaks Poland Holding Limited, SDTX, Number 26-90564.
