Restructuring partners Dan Prieto and Amanda Rush have joined Kirkland & Ellis from Jones Day. They will become the first members of the firm’s Restructuring Group based in Dallas, where they will focus on mass tort restructurings, Chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings and distressed M&A transactions, according to a news release.
Before joining Kirkland, Prieto and Rush were partners at Jones Day, where they advised companies and other stakeholders on complex restructuring and insolvency matters. Prieto returned to Jones Day in 2021 after serving as workout counsel at Golub Capital and a short stint as a partner at DLA Piper. Rush began her career at Jones Day and has been there for almost 15 years.

Prieto advises companies and other stakeholders on complex Chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings and distressed M&A transactions, with extensive experience developing strategies to resolve asbestos, talc and other mass tort liabilities. Rush represents clients in complex restructurings, cross-border insolvencies and distressed M&A transactions with a focus on resolving legacy liabilities.
Kirkland & Ellis recorded $1.39 billion in Texas revenue last year, a 20.9 percent increase since 2024, and a headcount of 500 lawyers, an increase of 11.4 percent, according to the Lawbook 50.
