David Higer, an intellectual property litigator, has joined Cole Schotz from Winstead as a member in the firm’s Litigation and Intellectual Property departments. He will focus his practice on intellectual property and commercial litigation, representing clients in patent, trade secret, copyright, antitrust and commercial disputes while advising clients on intellectual property protection, licensing, risk mitigation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and other strategic business matters, according to a news release.

Before joining Cole Schotz, Higer was a shareholder at Winstead for three years, where he represented clients in intellectual property and commercial litigation matters. He previously practiced at Wick Phillips for one and a half years and Kirkland & Ellis for 13, eight of them as a partner.
