(June 5) – The 2014 Father of the Year Committee named Greenberg Traurig shareholder Daniel Novakov among the three winners of DFW’s top dad award this year, the firm announced recently. Novakov, an expert on tax-related matters, was recognized with Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Baylor Scott & White Health CEO Joel Allison at a luncheon at the Frontiers of Flight Museum on May 20.
Each “Father of the Year” honoree was invited to select a local charity to receive a financial gift from the Father of the Year Scholarship fund. Novakov chose Bishop Dunne Catholic School in Oak Cliff to be his beneficiary.
“Dan is a true reflection of what it means to be a good father, a good man and good attorney,” Stephen Carlin, the managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Dallas office, said in a statement. “His integrity and personal involvement with his family and with the families he represents are traits that I admire in him as a colleague and make him deserving of this recognition.”
The Father of the Year Awards Committee was founded in 1976 to honor local business leaders who are both pillars of their communities and devoted dads, according to the organization’s website.
