By Brooks Igo – (September 15) – DLA Piper recently announced the addition of former general counsel Majorie Winters as a director and counsel to its NextGen Environment for STartUps (NEST) program, which provides emerging growth legal services.
Winters, who will be based in Austin, will counsel start-ups and mid-stage companies in matters related to formation, structuring, human resources, IP protection, financing and M&A.
In her role as vice president and general counsel at Austin-based Trade Technologies, Inc., Winters oversaw all IP, corporate compliance, human resource, commercial agreements, litigation, M&A and financial matters for the software and services company.
“Majorie has a deep understanding of the many nuances of the innovation economy and is a welcome addition to our strong team of practitioners working in the space,” Paul Hurdlow, co-chair of DLA Piper’s emerging growth and venture capital practice, said in a statement. “She will be a great resource for clients at every stage of their growth cycle.”
