By Natalie Posgate – (October 9) – Lawyers from Andrews Kurth are currently working on two acquisitions and one securities offering for clients.
In one acquisition, the firm is advising FourPoint Energy, LLC and EnerVest, Ltd. in their purchase of $1.95 billion worth of oil and gas properties and midstream assets in the Western Anadarko Basin from Linn Energy Holdings, LLC.
The deal team for FourPoint and EnerVest included Houston partners Hal Haltom, Allison Mantor and Lee McMurtry; Dallas partner Kay Lynn Brumbaugh; and Houston associates Ashley Muehlberger, Kristin Bachman and Matt Grunert.
LINN General Counsel Candice Wells said the deal was mostly handled in-house on their end, but she hired Baker Botts to advise in tax and employee benefits matters.
Holly Anderson led the in-house LINN deal team, which also included David Wildes and Sasha Vaikhman. From Baker Botts, the deal team included Houston partner James Chenoweth and associate Zachary Pullin, Dallas partners Matthew Larsen and Jennifer Trulock and Austin partner Mollie Duckworth.
Andrews Kurth also advised Blackhawk Network in its $290 million acquisition of Parago, Inc. The deal team included Dallas partners Zic Vanetti, Peter Bogdanow, Will Becker, Kay Lynn Brumbaugh, Muriel McFarling, Quentin Faust; Dallas of counsel Steve Finley; Dallas associate Jeff Hamilton; and Houston associate Matthew Grunert.
K&L Gates represented Lewisville-based Parago in the deal, with Dallas partner Soren Lindstrom as the lead attorney. Also assisting were Dallas partners Allison Wilkerson, Shawn Helms and Christie Newkirk; associates Lindsey Reighard, Dan Meehan and Caleb Wood; and attorneys from the firm’s Seattle office.
The securities offering Andrews Kurth handled involved Houston-based Buckeye Partners, LP’s $600 million offering of senior unsecured notes.
