Laura Gibson Named New President of HBA

(June 16) – The Houston Bar Association recently named Laura Gibson as its new president. She succeeds Carter Crow of Norton Rose Fulbright.

Gibson, a partner at Ogden, Gibson, Broocks, Longoria & Hall LLP, has been a member of the HBA Board of Directors since 2006. She has chaired the HBA Labor and Employment Section and the Houston Lawyer Referral Service Board of Directors.

The University of Houston Law Center graduate is a past winner of the State Bar of Texas Minority Counsel Program’s Trailblazer Outside Counsel Award.

Neil Kelly of Andrews Kurth is the new president-elect.

Other officers include Todd Frankfort of Flowers & Frankfort, first vice president; Benny Agosto, Jr. of Abraham, Watkins, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend, second vice president; Warren Harris of Bracewell & Giuliani, secretary; and Alistair Dawson of Beck Redden, treasurer. Crowe will continue to serve on the board as immediate past president.

Bill Kroger of Baker Botts, Jennifer Hasley of Hasley Scarano, Daniella Landers of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan and Erin Lunceford of Sprott Newsom Lunceford Quattlebaum Messenger, P.C. are the new directors for 2015-2017.
