(Sept. 18) – Barnes & Thornburg recently announced that it expanded its Dallas office by adding trial lawyer Victor Vital as a partner.
Vital, who joins the Indianapolis-based firm from Greenberg Traurig, said he wasn’t looking to leave his former firm, but his “strong entrepreneurial streak” seized the opportunity to help build Barnes & Thornburg’s newly opened Dallas office.
“I realized the opportunity lined up with what I want to do in the long-term,” he said. “I want to be entrepreneurial and be a part of a firm with a few lawyers and grow it into something substantial.”
The Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law graduate focuses his trial practice on securities, financial services, pharmaceutical and healthcare and white collar criminal defense matters. He is a former assistant district attorney.
“Victor is a deeply gifted trial lawyer who is passionate about trying cases and has achieved impressive results over the course of his career,” Mark Bayer, managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office, said in a statement. “In addition to his leading trial practice, Victor is a well-known civic leader with deep ties to the local business and non-profit communities. He is a person of great character and will be an invaluable asset as our team continues to grow in Dallas.”
The move to add Vital follows the recent additions of intellectual property expert Jon Hyland and litigator Thomas Haskins. Vital says it was important to him that his new firm sees “tremendous growth opportunities” in the Texas market and is committed to making its Dallas office one of the “substantial” offices within the firm.
