(March 30) – Kansas-based Tallgrass Development has agreed to purchase a subsidiary of Sempra U.S. Gas and Power’s 25 percent interest in Rockies Express Pipeline for $440 million.
The 1,698-mile pipeline stretches from Northwestern Colorado and Wyoming to Eastern Ohio.
Tallgrass turned to Austin partner Mollie Duckworth of Baker Botts to lead the acquisition. Duckworth received assistance from Austin partner Jon Nelsen and associate Courtney Fore, as well as Houston partner Mike Bresson.
Tallgrass’ in-house team included Assistant General Counsel Christopher Jones, as well as Jason Nonnemaker.
This isn’t the first time for Tallgrass to hire Duckworth. Last year, she led the $1.3 billion initial public offering of Tallgrass’ limited partner, Tallgrass Energy GP, LP.
San Diego-based Sempra kept its legal team in-house for the deal.
The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter.
