Texas Lawbook Senior Writer Wins Texas Gavel Award for Profile of EFH GC

(July 14) – The State Bar of Texas honored journalists from The Texas Lawbook, Texas Monthly, the Victoria Advocate, KPRC-Houston and KLTV-Tyler with the 2016 Texas Gavel Awards.

Texas Lawbook senior writer Mark Curriden received the Gavel Award in the Online category for an in-depth profile of Energy Future Holdings General Counsel Stacey Doré and a behind-the-scenes look at the EFH bankruptcy proceedings and restructuring plan.

Michael Hall of Texas Monthly won in the Print, Major Metro category; Jessica Priest of the Victoria Advocate received the Gavel Award for Print, Non-Metro; KPRC’s Robert Arnold, John Barone, Jon Hill, and Scott Sherman won in Broadcast, Major Metro; and Julia Jenaé and Cody Lillich of KLTV-Tyler took the top prize in Broadcast, Non-Metro.
