(July 25) – Baker Botts announced yesterday that Dallas partner Van Beckwith has been elected chair of the firm’s litigation department.

Beckwith is a member of the firm’s executive committee. His trial practice includes work in defense of energy, antitrust price fixing and tying, competitor v. competitor, technology and trade secrets, environmental, complex class actions and food and beverage litigation.

“I’m proud to do my part serving our partners,” Beckwith said in a statement.

“Just this year, we were again honored as Energy Litigation Department of the Year for an unprecedented fourth straight year, and our partners were elected to both of the prestigious, peer-selected associations, the American College and International Academy of Trial Lawyers.”
