(Sept. 12) – Polsinelli announced on Friday that shareholder Gemma Descoteaux has been named Outstanding Director by the Dallas Women Lawyers Association (DWLA). She will be honored at the DWLA’s annual awards reception on Oct. 19.

Descoteaux, who is serving in her third year on DWLA’s board of directors, was selected for her commitment to advancing women in the legal industry, mentoring young attorneys and connecting women in the community, according to the announcement.

In 2016, she helped launched an initiative that brought together women from DWLA and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. The Mentoring Circle program received the Star of Texas Bar Award.

At Polsinelli, Descoteaux serves on the firmwide compensation committee, is the liaison shareholder for the firm’s Women’s Initiative and is co-chair of the Dallas office’s Recruiting Committee.
