(April 27) – Revenue for the largest law firms in Texas was flat in 2013, but profits per partner for a handful of firms jumped significantly, according to the Texas Lawyer, which issued its annual Law Firm Finance Report Friday.
The Texas Lawyer reports that only half of the 25 largest law firms in the state saw their gross revenues climb in 2013. Susman Godfrey had the biggest jump – 33 percent to $160 million. The two highest grossing firms – Akin Gump and Vinson & Elkins – each scored revenue increases of more than six percent.
Eight law firms reported profits per partner of $1 million or more. Godwin Lewis led with $2.8 million. Three firms – Susman Godfrey, Akin Gump and Vinson & Elkins – increased their PPP by 16 percent or more over 2012.
