(Feb. 10) – Debbie Dudley Branson will receive the 87th Linz Award in April for her leadership on the board of directors of Parkland Memorial Hospital, The Dallas Morning News announced over the weekend.
The Linz Award is given annually to a Dallas County resident in honor of civic service or humanitarian efforts. It is considered Dallas’ oldest and most prestigious civic honor.
“I’m just totally stunned by the honor,” Branson told The Dallas Morning News. “Look at the list of luminaries who were past recipients; it’s reflective of a really strong, successful group of Dallas leaders who have made significant and lasting contributions. It’s astounding and momentous and just awesome.”
Branson was appointed to the Parkland board in 2011 by Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. She has served as the public hospital’s chairwoman for four years. She will step down from the board on Feb. 19.
