(Aug. 10) – The intellectual property law section at Baker Botts is about to get bigger.
Lawyers at the Houston-based firm have confirmed that at least three and possibly four IP partners at Vinson & Elkins are jumping to their rival.
The V&E partners are in the firm’s Austin office and include David Weaver, a former NASA space engineer who has led the firm’s IP practice for several years.
Lawyers at the two firms said this weekend that it does not appear that IP partners in V&E’s other offices are part of the move.
Leaders at the two firms declined to comment.
