(Nov. 17) – Dallas-based Thompson & Knight announced Tuesday that real estate and banking law partner Mark M. Sloan will be the law firm’s next managing partner.
Sloan, a 1990 graduate of SMU Dedman School of Law, replaces prominent tax law partner Emily Parker as the firm’s leader in February 2016. Parker was Thompson & Knight’s first woman partner and one of the few women to lead a Texas law firm.
Sloan represents lenders in virtually all types of real estate financings. He also advises financial institutions in connection with workouts and foreclosures. Sloan also represents multiple clients in connection with their acquisition, development and operation of retail shopping centers. Another major part of his practice focuses on industrial warehouse and multifamily development.
T&K, which opened its offices in 1887, has more than 300 lawyers and is known for its energy law practice.
